EIXUT: “un any dur, un vinasso” ( a hard year, a big wine)
EIXUT is the fruit of a lean and hard year, but not because of that it is pleasant, drinkable and delicious.
The last harvest, that of 2023, was very difficult, very hard. Accumulated drought, water restrictions, active presence of wild boar, roe deer, starling and goat, and ultimately a sharp drop in production.
There wasn’t much of an alternative, either give up or start reinventing yourself. We opted for the second option.
EIXUT is a great wine but above all it is an exercise in resilience. Few bottles, but as we mention on the label, “a hard year, a big wine”.
